In order to scan documents from my printer OfficeJet Pro 9010 series it seems that I have to set up the HPSmart app on my mac. Unfortunately, it seems that my mac - Catalina version 10.15.7 is not compatible. Version 11 is required?
Is there any way I can still scan documents to my mac. I don't want to buy a new mac. Thanks

Hi @Charles0545,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's possible that there might be alternative methods to scan documents to your Mac without using the HPSmart app. Here are a few steps you can try:
Use Built-in Scanning Software:
- macOS typically comes with built-in scanning software. You can try using the "Preview" application to scan documents. Open Preview, go to "File" > "Import from Scanner" or "Import from [your printer name]." Follow the prompts to scan your documents.
Check Printer Settings:
- Ensure that your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 series printer is connected to your Mac. Go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" and make sure your printer is listed and selected. Some printers have their own scanning functionality that can be accessed through the printer settings.
HP Easy Scan (if available):
- Check if HP provides a separate scanning application called "HP Easy Scan" for your printer model. Download and install this application from the official HP website and see if it works with your macOS version.
Before trying these steps, make sure your printer's drivers are up-to-date. Visit the HP website to download the latest drivers compatible with macOS Catalina. Click Here
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
