Have new ink printer does not print. Computer reconiges printer

I have new ink in printer. Printer works OK but will not print. Is it possible that ink dried up. Cannot get to webpage to show ink level. Is the cartridge suppose to  be gold where the ink meets paper when printing. Just wondering if their is plastic blocking the cartridge.

Are you referring to an HP Deskjet F4135 All-in-One Printer? This is a pretty old printer.

If the printer was not used for more than 2 weeks the ink could have dried up.

Use HP ink cartridges.

Make sure the plastic tape if any, is removed from the new ink cartridge before placing it in the printer.

Check if the ink cartridges are properly inserted in the printer, you may refer to - Replace HP inkjet printer cartridges

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors

Try making a standalone copy from the flatbed glass and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.
