Hello Friends!

 

Hope you can help me - I'm not very good at technical stuff 🙂

 

I have a HP Office Jet Pro 8610 printer and I am using MS Windows 10 Home edition. 

 

I have a large number of old photos that I need to scan for my Mother's upcoming memorial service. I scanned the first photo and when I open the file it's at the top left of a white page. I put the photo on the glass scanner and clicked scan to memory stick and jpeg colour 300 dpi. At this rate, it's going to take me a very long time to scan 150+ photos.

 

Hope someone can help me with a simple solution.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

 

The full driver printer software includes HP Scan

Use HP Scan for this task.

 

Place your photos on the printer flatbed / glass face down with enough space between each photo that the software can detect the boundaries of each photo.

 

Open HP Scan

Set Shortcut to "Save as JPEG"

Set Item Type = Photo

Set the Page Size = Detect Photos

Set Source = Flatbed (glass)

Open menu More >

Check / Adjust settings in each sub-menu > Click OK to save changes and exit a menu

Return to the main print menu (< Less)

Back on the main menu, When ready, Click to Scan

If you have not done so, check / install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - Installation Package - Information / Download and Save

If the full driver printer software is (already) installed but not working,

  • Uninstall any printer software from Control Panel > icon view > Programs and Features
  • Restart the computer and sign in.

Next,

  • Check (for the Printer) in Devices and Printers  > If found, Right-Click Printer and Remove -- If any changes are made, that is, you remove anything, Restart the computer and sign in.

Next,

  • If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, disconnect the cable before installing the printer software.
  • Download and Save the Full Feature Software installation package or the Easy Start Software
  • Install a fresh copy of the Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software
  • If using a printer USB cable between the printer and the computer, connect the cable when instructed (near the end of the installation).
  • Restart the computer and log in
