I have been doing some development that involves eSCL protocol. I bought this MFP M283fdw for that reason and even yesterday I captured insecure packets between scanner and MacOS with Wireshark. Today however I can not seem to see those packets rather a lot of encrypted packets.
It seems I had to disable secure eSCL somewhere in the MFP web GUI but I guess I can not find that setting now. It seems to have changed itself. I did find an "Enforce Secure Protocol" on the display of the unit but I think that is only for the Web GUI interface. It did not seem to make a difference, not even after power cycle. I also disable "Product security" ( or device security?) whatever that means
How can I disable secure eSCL scanning? I really need to see the packets again! It was working as I need it to now it is broken!
I see this document discusses enabling/disabling eSCL but my model and firmware have only one check box for eSCL no distinction between Secure eSCL and eSCL on that page

Hi,
When you add a printer to your Mac using AirPrint, you are offered with both Secure AirPrint or AirPrint options.
Please remove the printer and click the Plus sign, be sure to select AirPrint and not the Secure AirPrint option.
If you still experience issues, from the Setup menu of the printer select Network Settings, then select Restore Network Defaults and confirm any prompt, then reconnect the printer to the network and check if you may see any change then.
Hope that may help,
Shlomi
