How can I scan multiple documents into 1 file on my HP OfficeJet 4630 using Windows 10 with an HP Envy dv7 notebook?  The automatic feeder on top of the printer doesn't work at all and I can't find a setting to change to "multiple page" scans.  I saw similar questions posted, but not the complete steps to resolve the problem.

Hi @VanP1,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.  Apologies for jumping in here.

We'll like to suggest that you "upgrade" your scan solution:

HP Scan Extended (standalone scan solution)

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

Once the HP Scan extended is started, you can watch the following example on how to scan multiple pages (2-sided document) and how the Software will collate for you:

HP Officejet Pro 6960 series : Scan a 6 pages 2 sided document using the ADF

(Different printer but they are using the HP Scan Extended interface and should apply to your printer once you have HP Scan Extended installed)

Let us know if that works!

Hi,

Please try the following steps

Double click printer icon on desktop,
Select Scan a Document or Photo,
Put the first page on the glass (face down),
Check options (size, dpi ...), and select Scan document to file,
Click Scan - machine will scan the first page
Remove the first page on the glass, put the second page,
Click + (plus sign) It sits on the left hand side of a red x
Machine will scan the second page, put 3rd page on the glass and click + again ..... to the end then click Save
  Click Done after Save

OR

Use the following software (download, install then use it to scan):

       ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Regards.

Thank you for the detailed info, but I'm trying to scan large multiple files and want to be able to scan double sided from the top feeder.

Hi,

No, it does not support duplex scanning from the ADF. You have to turn yourself. If you wish to use duplex scanning you have to buy a different printer such as HP OfficeJet Pro 8620, 8630 or 8640.
