My HP Deskjet 4640 Series is an excellent Printer.
The copy glass is 8 1/2 x 11 however I would like to scan a legal sized document that is 8 1/2 x 14.
Am I able to feed the 8 1/2 x 14 legal document into the top of the printer and then scan in this manner?
If so, can you please provide me a step by step process for my viewing.
Thank you kindly

Yes,
The ADF supports up to Legal size:
Scan size (ADF), maximum: 216 x 356 mm http://www8.hp.com/in/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=5395802#!tab=specs
From your PC open the HP Deskjet 4640 software and press on Scan a Document or Photo.
Set the Scan Source as Document Feeder (If Loaded) and set the scan size as Legal (8.5 x 14n), then press the Scan button and follow the steps on screen.
