Hi @Citasmatte,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.
To change the paper size from A4 to A3 on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9720e Wide Format All-in-One Printer, you can follow these steps:
Load A3 Paper: Ensure that you have A3-sized paper loaded into the input tray.
Change Paper Size on Printer:
- On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Settings or Paper Setup options.
- Select Paper Size and choose A3 from the available options.
Adjust Paper Size in the Print Settings: When printing or copying, make sure to set the paper size in the software (e.g., your computer’s print dialog):
- Select the appropriate application (like Word, PDF viewer, etc.).
- When you choose Print, make sure to select A3 as the paper size in the printer preferences/settings.
Scan or Copy on A3 Paper:
- If you're copying or scanning, you may need to select the A3 paper size on the printer’s screen during the copy or scan setup.
- In the Copy or Scan menu on the printer, ensure that the size is set to A3.
If you cannot find the A3 option in the settings or paper size menu, it may be necessary to check the printer driver settings on your computer or update the printer's firmware.
Refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Note that on this product you can only scan A3 from the glass, the document feeder only supports letter/A4 and legal sized paper. A real short coming in my opinion as a comparable competitor's product does A3 from the document feeder.
