How do I change the compression settings for pdf documents on the machine

How do I change the compression settings for pdf documents on the HP MFP M277dw machine (and not by using the desktop software). The finished pdf documents are too big even setting the dpi to 200 on the machine.

- When was the last time you were able to print PDF files without any issues?

- Were there any changes made to your printer recently?

- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?

Thanks for the reply.  Not having a printing problem.  Need to know how to compress documents before scanning to pdf.  I know that I can change the DPI; however, I would like to know how to change the compression default on the machine (not using desktop software), to better control the finished pdf file size.  I have both the m277 and a m477.  Thanks.

Thank you for sharing the above information.

If you do not see any options to compress the scan files from the control panel scan options.

Then the option is not available to compress the files while scanning.
