Hi @Laroyston,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how troubling it can be. Here’s how to update the time and date on your HP Envy 4650 (which affects your fax header) 😌:

Option 1: Using the Printer’s Control Panel

  1. On the printer touchscreen, tap the Setup icon (⚙️ or Menu).
  2. Scroll and select Preferences (it might be under “Setup Menu (Continued)”).
  3. Choose Date and Time.
  4. Adjust the date, time, and time zone as needed.
  5. Tap OK, then press Apply or Save, if prompted.
  6. The new time/date should update the fax timestamp.

Option 2: Via the Embedded Web Server (EWS - Browser Interface)

  1. Find your printer’s IP address from the device menu: Setup → Network or Wireless Info.
  2. Open a web browser and enter http://<printer_IP> (e.g., http://192.168.1.25).
  3. In the EWS, go to Settings or System, then select Preferences → Date & Time.
  4. Enter the correct time, date, and time zone.
  5. Click Apply or Save.
  6. Allow the printer to restart or refresh settings.

This method ensures the date/time changes apply to all printer functions including fax.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
