HP quick start documentation really needs a support czar.  I finally found the HP Easy Start which has helped me get my printer and computer connected.  What I want to do is walk up to my printer, put a document on the flat bed and send a scan of it to a computer on my very small network (3 computers).  I have been able to see the printer from my computer and connect with the Easy Start software, but when I select send to network folder from the control panel, I just get the suggestion to go to hp.com/scanhelp.  I have not been able to find anything there that is helpful.  Getting my first scan is feeling like achieving the fourth level in a Mario Brothers game.

Process is different for configuration depending on model of printer. Please provide futher details.

Thanks, Repairatrooper for your quick response and you are right on about my not including enough information to solve my problem.  I bought an HP 4301fdw, fully expecting the kind of support I had received from HP as far back as when I bought an HP41 calculator in 73.  I guess expectations are different now.

Anyway, I stumbled across the Easy Start app and installed it.  I can actually walk up to the printer and send a scan to a folder on my computer.  So I have made some progress.  I haven't restarted my computer since installing the software but it looks like scans are limited to 200 dpi when using the ADF.  The other thing is that the scanner seems to be adjusting the size of the scan to the input document.  This will be helpful when I am scanning receipts but not at other times.  Can I specify letter size docs?

Thanks again for responding.  Community help is almost always better than manuals.
