I have the Samsung Xpress SL-M2070FW Laser Multifunction Printer; printing off of my MacBook works fine whether it's via USB or Wifi. When I try to scan via USB it doesn't work. The printer sees the computer when I plug in the USB cable. It recognizes it as the "Local PC" and when I go to scan it says "Connecting" for a while; then it eventually beeps and says "Not available".
I have installed the "Samsung Universal Print and Scan" V3.93.08 which is for MacOS 12 which I am on. It doesn't seem to have fixed the scanning issue.
I tried to install old versions of the 3rd party software from Samsung to see if there was anything that needed configuring, but the old version doesn't work on this OS. The latest version I could find of the "Easy Printer Manager" software was V1.03.38 and was last made for MacOS 10.14.
I've used the "Easy Printer Manager" on Windows 10/11 devices before and they scan and print over Wifi/USB fine, so I can't understand why the software can't be updated for the newer MacOS. I do not have access to any Windows devices at the moment so I'm stuck with just the print function.
Can anyone help me with ways to get around/resolve my problem? Is there a new version of the Samsung software that I'm not aware of?
