  • Open the HP Smart app.
  • If this is your first time using the app, click on "Set up a new printer" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the app.
  • If the printer is already set up, it should appear in the HP Smart app. Select it to proceed.

3. Scan Using HP Smart:

  • Once your printer is set up in the HP Smart app, click on the “Scan” option.
  • Choose “Scan Document” or “Scan Photo” depending on what you’re scanning.
  • Place your document or photo on the scanner bed.
  • Click “Scan” to start the process.
  • After scanning, you can save, email, or print the scanned document/photo as needed.

4. Scan Using Windows Fax and Scan:

  • Open “Windows Fax and Scan” by searching for it in the Start menu.
  • Click on “New Scan” in the toolbar.
  • Select your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus from the list of available scanners.
  • Choose the type of scan you want (e.g., color, black & white) and adjust any settings as needed.
