Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Just bought HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw, and set it up following HP Easy Start with my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan). I so far successfully test-printed and test-scanned, but not copied (Is there any instructions on copying somewhere?). The (hardware) control panel on the device has many buttons (icons) that may pertain to copying. But they are not lit up (or back-lit) though device power is on, with an exception of the wireless connection icon. The LCD panel says Default Settings (first line) and Print Information Sheet (second line). That the panel is not lit up indicates that my device is defective? More broadly what am I supposed to do to get copying going?

For Copy function, it works very similar to a photocopy machine. Please start from page 41 of the following User Guide

Thank you for pointing me to the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw manual. I was unaware of its existence (no material that came with the printer mentions to it as far as I can tell).

I have read the section on copying starting on page 41.

However, the problem at hand is that the 2-line control panel appears to be "dead" as I described in my original post. The printer does not respond to pressing of any of the buttons (or ikons). Do I need to take any action to "wake up" the control panel?

To save tress and the earth, many vendors now don't include thick manuals in the box they may be out-of-date anway. For the problem with printer control panel (screen) please send printer back and get a replacement.

Have sent the presumably defective printer back to HP for a replacement. Thank you for your advice.
