I need to fax but do not want to install another landline.  I am told the hp 8710 Office Jet Pro will send a fax by WIFI .  I installed HP smart but do not know what to do next.

1.  How do I download a report to fax

2.  where do I put the respondents phone number or do I use email or cell number?

3.  Can I get a response email?  If so, do I give an email, cell identification for a return fax?

I am totally confused!  HELP, please!

Welcome to the HP Community --

You don't need "another" land line in that if you have an existing landline, you can likely share it with the fax hardware in your printer.  That said, you do need an in-wall connection where you can plug in the fax using a 2-wire phone cable as described in the user manual.  True - even in those households or offices that still have a landline service, the connections are not always where you want them located.

Example -

Chapter 8 - Fax - Starting on Page 73

Both of the printer models you mention include standard fax hardware.

Both models are made to use the aforementioned landline and phone cable.

HP Mobile Fax does not require the use of fax hardware - you need a phone, camera, and the appropriate network and phone services to create and send a Mobile fax.

Unless something has changed, I am not aware the Mobile Fax can "receive" faxes -- I think it might be something we'll see later...

Other e-Fax products / subscriptions might include both send / receive service - search online for such services in your area.
