I understand that there is an "HP app" that I don't have that may be necessary.  If so, how do I get that?

Hi @This_Bites,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet 7602 scanning multiple pages into a single PDF issue. Let’s go through a few checks.

To scan multiple pages into a single PDF on an HP 7602, use the HP App to utilize the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) or the "add pages" feature on the scanner glass. The app is available on the Microsoft Store for Windows, App Store, or Google Play.

  • Using the Document Feeder (ADF - Top Tray):
    1. Place your multi-page document into the ADF tray at the top of your HP 7602, face up.
    2. Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.
    3. Select Scan.
    4. Select Document as the scan type and ensure the source is set to Document Feeder.
    5. Select Save as PDF.
    6. Click Scan.
  • Using the Scanner Glass (Flatbed):
    1. Place the first page on the scanner glass, face down.
    2. Open the HP Smart app and choose Scan.
    3. Select Save as PDF.
    4. After the first page scans, look for the options on the screen to "Add Pages" or "+" (Add pages to scan).
    5. Place the next page on the scanner glass and click Scan again.
    6. Repeat until all pages are scanned, then click Save.
  • Using the Printer Panel (Scan to PC):
    1. Load pages into the ADF.
    2. Select Scan on the HP 7602 touchscreen.
    3. Choose your computer (if connected) and select Save as PDF or Scan to PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

K_K,

In the Microsoft Store, I see the HP Smart app as available, and on the marquee it says "The HP Smart app is moving to the HP app."  That tells me that the "HP app" is not available yet.  Is that indeed true, and if not true, where do I get the  HP app?  It is not available in the Microsoft Store.  Is there any other way to get it?

Hi @This_Bites,

You’re absolutely right, HP Smart is in the process of being transitioned into what’s now called the HP app.

Right now, depending on your region and system, you may still see HP Smart in the Microsoft Store instead of a separate “HP app.” That’s normal.

Here’s what you should do:

Go ahead and install HP Smart from the Microsoft Store

Once installed, open it and sign in

The app will either

Automatically update itself into the newer HP app, or

Show the updated interface that already functions as the HP app

So even though the name hasn’t fully changed everywhere yet, HP Smart is currently the correct and official way to get the HP app experience.

Once you have it installed, you’ll be able to scan multiple pages into a single PDF using the “Add pages” option or the document feeder.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Sounds simple, but when I download and click on HP Smart Installer.exe, in about 3 seconds I get a dialog that says:

Store Installer has stopped working

Windows can check online for a solution to the problem.

--> Check online for a solution and close the program

--> Close the program

I am running Windows 7, and when I purchased my 7602 printer last year, it was supporting Windows 7.  I have a feeling my OS is why the installer won't run.  So, is there ANY other way I can make this printer scan multiple pages into 1 PDF file?  My old HP 8600 could do that on its own!

Hi @This_Bites,

Thank you for the response.

The newer HP app (and HP Smart) does not support Windows 7, which is why the installer fails with the “Store Installer has stopped working” message. So you won’t be able to use the HP app on your system.

However, you can still scan multiple pages into a single PDF using the older HP software:

  • Install the full feature driver/software for the HP OfficeJet 7602 (this includes “HP Scan”)
  • Open HP Scan on your computer
  • Choose Document to File
  • Select PDF as the file type
  • Make sure the option to save all pages into a single file is enabled

Then:

  • If using the ADF (top feeder): load all pages and scan, it will combine automatically
  • If using the scanner glass: scan the first page, then use the “Add Page” option for each additional page, and save at the end

If you don’t have HP Scan installed, you’ll need to download the full feature software for your printer from HP’s support site.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
