I have HP Smart on my desktop and use it to connect to my printer. It's an HP OfficeJet 4360 All in One.  I was able to scan a document and fax it with no problems through the app.  My question is how much does the Fax service cost after the free trial period?  The Terms of Service contract only states that I will be sent an email regarding subscription plans close to the end of the trial period.  However, I cannot find anything on HP regarding this service or how much it costs.  A previous answer talked about HP offering limited free faxing (20 pages) from an efax service, but the answer indicated that this service is different from HP's Mobile Fax service offered via the HP Smart App.  Can anyone tell me the price structure?  I rarely have to send faxes but when I do it's a hassle to find a free fax service on-line.

We are finally closing in on the official end of the long anticipated super-extended Trial Period for the application.

That said, the terms seem to indicate that there is some reason to expect you will be offered your own trial period of some kind - the extent of the period is not mentioned.

Before your trial ends, you will be given the opportunity to sign up for a "plan" - thus far, at least, plan costs are not posted on the website.

Personal Opinion - Be Informed

This is another one of those instances where the service might be great - or not great.

Whether it is great depends on what the service actually offers, your needs, what you expect, and how well you understand the contract.

Best read all the various bits of information offered in each document and link.

You sort of repeated what I said.  While the HP Smart App is telling me that I am in a trial period, it doesn't tell me anything about the cost details of the plan I may be offered.  I have to wait until the end of trial period to get an email.  And I cannot find an answer on the website.  So actually you didn't answer my question you just confirmed that the cost of the plans is not listed on the website.  Hopefully someone has actually purchased this plan and give more details.  The links you sent aren't helpful as it simply repeats the fact that I will be offered a "Plan" but with no details about what those plans are.  Of course I'm going to read any contract details carefully before I commit to spending money.

Due to there being no cost structure or even an idea of cost posted in the response, I'm not willing to mark this as resolved.  HP should have SOMETHING somewhere that can enlighten potential and current customers on how much this fax service will someday cost.

I agree that the answer the Community can provide is not always satisfactory.

Stay safe.

Carry on.

I do not think anyone knows the price which is very odd.

Yes it is very odd.  Seems to me if a company does not want to disclose the cost of a service, then that service is probably overpriced.

What's the big secret? How about a little transparency here?

@KathyD27, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

The only available information is as below:

"The Mobile Fax service will be free until sometime in the first half of 2021. HP does not require a credit card or any other form of payment to use the Mobile Fax service during the free trial period. HP will inform users of available paid service plans 30-days prior to the end of the free trial period expiring sometime in the first half of 2021, at which point users will be required to provide a form of payment if they want to continue to use the Mobile Fax service. HP has the right to disable the service at any time for any reason for any one or all users. HP has the right to delete accounts and all related files, records and access. Please review the terms of service by clicking here.

The following products include an extended 24-month (from the date of service activation) free trial of the Mobile Fax send service: DeskJet Plus 4100 series, DeskJet Ink Advantage 4100 series, ENVY Pro 6400 series, DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6400 series."

For more info, refer to this document.

As we have passed first half of 2021, you may reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region for assistance and information on the price.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.

Right.

Lots of people ask the same question.

It is yet a mystery.

If HP is not posting the plans and prices, we have no way to provide the information.

We have access to the public information HP is providing.

I would guess that should your Mobile Fax product be at the point where you must decide on a plan,

The information for available plan(s) / price(s) will be provided / displayed.

IF your product trial period is ended,

If you are trying to select a plan and cannot do so,

We can try sending another request for review of the question.

Why does HP not just post the plans / prices as is done for Instant Ink subscriptions?

Who knows?  Maybe the costs are different in different regions / locations.

Maybe everyone is still on "Trial" and HP has not yet implemented a plan / price structure.

What else?

Look for other online / purchase e-Fax / Mobile Fax options for your device / situation.

No more mystery mobile fax.
