How to edit scan shortcuts

The printer, when installed, creates a number of "scan shortcuts" that appear on the printers' window when I request "scan to computer". I want to edit these, for example to default to a PDF instead of a JPG. This was possible with the old HP setup and control software. The current software, HP Smart, does not offer such an option, that I can see. I have the latest version of HP Smart as downloaded from the Microsoft store. HOW DO I EDIT THESE SCAN SHORTCUTS, please??  TIA

The short version answer

It's different when using HP Smart application - "shortcuts" as you know them are not the same thing when associated with HP Smart.

HP Smart application, on a few selected printers, can synchronize Print Tasks to the printer from those "tasks" created in HP Smart for Windows or HP Smart Mobile.  That is the main "catch" - not very many printers can sync to the printer display.  It is  not broken that this does not work for every printer - the limitation has to do with the capabilities in the printer.

For example, sync works on the Officejet Pro 9025 but sync does not work on your printer.

Print Tasks are "shortcuts" that can be created in HP Smart for Windows and in HP Smart Mobile.

Where available, Smart Tasks can be configured for several print tasks.

• Print: Send a print job to your printer.
• Email: Send an email message or attachments.
• Save to: Save a file to a cloud storage account, such as Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.

 HP Printers - HP Smart: Use Smart Tasks

When you run HP Smart in Windows - or on your supported Mobile device - you can create or use (previously created) Print Tasks to (for example) save a scanned item, share that item (in email, for example), or perhaps print the scan (when it works, this is a bit like a fancy copy).

Print Tasks, of course, work with those documents or images stored in your device that you want to print / save / share.

You can use Smart Tasks in Windows and in your supported mobile device.
