How to fax multiple pages from an Officejet 3830 with flatbed scanner?

I am using an HP Officejet 3830 All in One printer and am trying to fax multiple pages. I have my house phone jack plugged into the back of this unit, and from the control panel on the front of the unit am able to fax one page. I can find nothing in the user manual on how to fax more than one page using the flatbed scanner, nor can I see any way to use the document feeder for multiple pages without someway to prompt for each page.

Faxing and scanning multiple sheets from an automatic feeder should be automatic.

What happens when you load 2 sheets in the document feeder and fax them?

Nothing happens with the Document Feeder. All the action is from the flatbed scanner.

The front of the printer shows options for fax, scan or copy. If I press fax, then it will scan my page that was placed in the flatbed scanner and scan it. then I am prompted for the fax number and it sends. There isn't any way for me to indicate I have more than one page to fax.

There is no interaction with the PC, which I think would be necessary to control the Document Feeder, but I don't see any way to make that happen.

When you load 2 sheets in an automatic feeder does the printer recognize the loaded original?

If yes then fax 2 sheets, if not your automatic document feeder is defective and you will not be able to use it.
