Product: HP officejet 4630 all-in-one printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to scan documents and save them as MS word documents.  My only choices are jpg, tif and I do not remember the other one.  Also, the printer wants to save them in the pictures/video folder on my PC.

1.  Can I change these settings?

2.   If so, please provide me with the steps to do so.

Hi,
The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
As you may find listed within the Scan file format section, text files as TXT or RTF are not supported by the HP software:
http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/press_kits/2013/HPInstantInk/Officejet4630.pdf


You may use any 3rd part OCR solution to scan as editable text.

If you have Microsoft Office suite there is a good chance the office suite provides this kind of capabilities:

Office 2007 or 2010:

Office 2003:
http://agsci.psu.edu/it/how-to/perform-ocr-with-microsoft-office-2003-document-imaging
