How to scan multiple pages from flatbed into a single file - HP OfficeJet 6950

Hello there community,

How can I scan multiple pages from the flatbed into a single PDF file, with a preview before saving, on my HP OfficeJet 6950 with the current HP Smart?

I've tried following multiple suggestions from this forum, without any success.

I've tried finding out the HP Smart version (or the HP Scan inside it) but couldn't find it.

The printer can scan pages from the flatbed and create a single output file in PDF format.

HP Smart - Windows -

Open HP Smart > Scan > Documents

Scan the first page -- Optionally Edit the page content

When ready to continue, find and click the "+ Add" button -

Remember that you must flip and scan any "back side" pages.

Scan the next page --When ready to continue, find and click the "+ Add" button -

When Done,

The pages must be manually sorted into their final order:

View "Tile View"

Grab (Left-Click and hold) each page and drag it into the order wanted.

Select your next option:  Print, Save, Share (to Email), Shortcuts, or Mobile Fax (as available)

If not done,

Install the Full Feature Software > instructions included later in this message in Section Printer Software

Use / Open HP Scan

Select to Scan > Documents

Each page must be placed on the flatbed and scanned separately --

Remember to flip 2-sided pages and scan the back side.

The software can help with final sorting.

To scan two-sided, on the main page menu of HP Scan - Right side -

Select Page Sides = 2 - sided (manual)

To create the "one document" from the page(s) scanned,

More > Destination > File Type > Clear box (remove check) from "Separate file for each scanned page" > OK

Scan each page until Done

Printer Software

If you have not yet done so, install the Full Feature Software / full driver printer software.

HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts.  The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.

NOTES:  

HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.

The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it.  If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver.

No Sign-in required to use full driver printer software.

Reinstalling?

• Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
• If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
• Restart the computer and log in.
• If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

In general, the web pack should load -

Download package > Save > Right-Click on the installation Package > Run as Administrator

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.

Using USB?  (Re)Connect when instructed to do so.

After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

The installation of the full driver generally adds at least one or more shortcuts to the Desktop.

 Note:  Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and HP Scan are dependent on printer model and supported software options.

• Printer Assistant – Where still supported as part of the full driver printer software
• HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model

OR

• HP Scan Assistant – For those printers that no longer provide the Printer Assistant
• HP Scan - Shortcut named for itself

AND / OR

• When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut

Printer Assistant shortcut > Tab Scan > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable

Or

HP Scan Assistant shortcut > Manage Scan to Computer > Enable
