Since I recently updated my printer driver, the scanning software seems to have changed. I now have something called HP Smart, and I cannot work out how to scan multiple pages to a single PDF. Under the old system, you just clicked the small x under the saved image of the first page, to add a second page, and so on. Now there is a big ADD button to the right of the image - but this only seems to create a folder to save all the pages into, not a single document. So when emailing the scanned document, you have to attach all the individual pages and send them separately, rather than sending a single document. Could you please let me know if it's still possible to create a single file containing multiple pages?

Scanning issues…
Please try this scan solution:
HP Scan Extended
For Windows: HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads
Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"
Make searchable PDFs scans with this free scanning software - https://www.naps2.com/
Let us know.

Many thanks! Nice and simple. It's always annoying when an update changes something that was working perfectly fine before, and you have to devote brainspace to fathoming how to fix it. You saved me a lot of angst with this fix.

I downloaded and installed the HPScanExt.msi to be able to scan multiple pages into one PDF document. I executed the app and it looked like it was working, I selected scan as a PDF, scanned the first page then I selected the icon at the lower left to scan the second page. Not only did I get two separate documents, but they were JPG instead of PDF. What am I missing?

I have a macbook pro and need to email a two page scanned document. However, my scanner (which has never done this before) is now scanning each page into a separate document. Please tell me how to rectify this problem. Thank you.

@Simon-Says, Welcome to HP Support Community!
To assist you better, I would like to know the following-
Which printer are you using?
Which application are you trying to scan from?
What is the Operating System installed on your computer?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

For scanning multi-page-PDFs on my Mac, I'm using HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store:
