To scan a document or image from your HP OfficeJet 4655 printer to your computer, you can use the HP Scan software that comes with the printer or the built-in scanning features of your computer's operating system. Below are the general steps to scan to a computer.

  • Install HP Software: Ensure that you have the HP printer software and drivers installed on your computer. If you don't have it installed, you can download it from the HP website.
  • Place the Document: Put the document or image you want to scan face down on the scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (ADF), depending on your printer model.
  • Turn on the Printer: Make sure your HP OfficeJet 4655 printer is turned on and connected to your computer via a USB cable or over the network.
  • Open HP Scan: On your computer, open the HP Scan software. You can usually find it in the HP folder in your list of installed programs.
  • Select Scan Type: Choose the type of scan you want, such as a photo or document. You may also have options for color or grayscale scans.
  • Configure Scan Settings: Adjust the scan settings according to your preferences, including resolution, file type (e.g., PDF or JPEG), and destination folder.
  • Preview Scan: Click the "Preview" button to see a preview of what will be scanned. This allows you to make any necessary adjustments to the placement of the document.
  • Scan: Once you are satisfied with the preview, click the "Scan" button to start the scanning process. The scanned document or image will be saved to the specified destination on your computer.

 

Using Computer's Built-in Scanning Feature (Windows):

 

If you prefer to use the built-in scanning feature of your Windows computer, you can follow these steps:

 

  • Place the Document: Put the document or image on the scanner glass or ADF of your printer.
  • Turn on the Printer: Ensure that your HP OfficeJet 4655 printer is turned on and connected to your computer.
  • Open Windows Scan: In Windows, search for "Windows Scan" or "Scan" in the Start menu and open the Windows Scan app.
  • Select Scanner: Choose your HP OfficeJet 4655 as the scanner source if it's not automatically selected.
  • Configure Scan Settings: Adjust the scan settings, such as scan type, resolution, and file type.
  • Preview Scan: Click the "Preview" button to preview the scan and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Scan: After previewing, click the "Scan" button to start the scanning process. The scanned file will be saved to your computer.
