HP LaserJet M234sdw will not make copies. I am not connected to internet because a tornado took out my providers service a few months ago. No damage at my place. During this time I have been able to make copies, but it will not at this time.

Hi @Roni521
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It’s great to hear that your home stayed safe after the tornado, though I can imagine the disrupted internet service has been frustrating.
Since your HP LaserJet M234sdw was able to make copies without internet before but is no longer working, the issue may not be directly tied to the lack of internet connectivity.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:
1. Power Cycle the Printer:
Turn off your printer completely.
Unplug it from the power source, wait for a couple of minutes, and then plug it back in.
Power it back on and check if copying starts working again.
2. Check Printer Settings:
Inspect the printer’s control panel for any error messages or notifications that might indicate what’s wrong.
Ensure the printer is set to the correct Copy Mode. You may need to select the copy function manually from the control panel.
3. Paper and Cartridge Check:
Confirm that there is enough paper in the tray and that the paper is properly aligned.
Check the toner cartridge levels; if they’re critically low, copying might stop working.
4. Clean the Scanner Glass:
A dirty scanner glass can sometimes prevent copying from working properly.
Use a lint-free cloth and gently clean the glass surface where you place the original document.
5. Factory Reset:
If the above steps don’t work, resetting the printer to its factory settings might resolve any configuration issues. Look for the reset option in the settings menu on the printer’s control panel.
6. Perform a Diagnostic Test:
Many HP printers have a built-in diagnostic mode to test components. Run this test (if available) to check for hardware faults.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
