Had a power outage. Now my HP OfficeJet 6954 will not complete a fax. It dials number, says it is connecting, but will not send. Says communication error.

Are you able to receive faxes? Have you tried sending faxes to different contacts to isolate the issue?

 

I'd suggest you follow the document HP Printers and Fax Machines - Resolving Fax Problems to isolate and resolve the issue.
