HP TopShot LaserJet Pro M275 MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello HP Community.  My Hp laserjet pro M275 started to display message "Camera error 1000" while trying to Cop or Scan a document.  This happens whether or not the printer is connected to the laptop.  I have disconnected the power, reset the printer to defaults, all following directions from the Community.  All this started to happen after the printer was recently updated to the latest firmware software of 2015.

I will appreciate any help.

Regards,

Hi @CMPXXIX,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "Camera error 1000" message on an HP LaserJet Pro M275 printer indicates a problem with the device's built-in camera. This printer model has a unique feature that allows you to capture images using the built-in camera, which is why this error is specific to the camera functionality.

To troubleshoot the "Camera error 1000" issue, you can try the following steps.

  • Power cycle the printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and check if the error message persists.
  • Reset the printer to factory settings: On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Setup menu or Settings menu. Look for the "Restore Defaults" or "Reset All" option and select it. Confirm the reset process and wait for the printer to restart. After the reset, check if the camera error still occurs.
  • Update the printer firmware: Visit the HP Support website (www.support.hp.com) and search for your printer model. Download the latest firmware available for your printer and follow the instructions provided to update the firmware. Firmware updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can resolve issues like camera errors.
  • Clean the camera lens: The camera lens on the printer may accumulate dust or debris over time, affecting its functionality. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the camera lens. Avoid using any liquids or harsh materials that could damage the lens.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
