Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a dynamite place to find answers and information!
I understand that you are unable to open HPdirec.exe after installing the printer on Windows 10 computer.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- Where did you download the printer driver from?
Meanwhile, Uninstall the printer driver from root level and reinstall it.
Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.
Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
Type %temp% in the run field, and click OK.
Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
Open folder Util
Open folder CCC
Run the uninstall_ L4.bat
When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
Press the Windows key + R on the keyboard to bring up the run menu.
Type %programfiles% in the run field and click OK.
Delete any HP/Hewlett Packard folders.
Install the printer with the Windows built-in driver,

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately these days I'm not home.
I installed the printer from the old Windows XP CD (how stupid!)
Next week I will be at home and I will put your instructions into practice and give you an answer.
Thank you

Sorry I followed the instructions but it does not work.
In the path %temp% there are several folders starting with 7z but in none there is a "util" folder.
I also searched for "uninstall_*" in the whole C: disk but it does not exist
Thank you for help

Thank you very much for your instructions!
I have executed the instructions and the printer works correctly.
I have alos downloaded "Windows Scanner" from Microsoft App and now I can also use my HP psc 1210 as a scanner.
Thank you very much! ![]()
