Welcome to the HP English Community --

Sadly, this is expected behavior.

The printer won't print after being dropped - shattered glass is another visual indicator that the printer mechanics are broken.

The basic HP hardware warranty that came with the printer's purchase never covered accidental damage.

HP Care Packs vary by contract -- should your printer be covered, the name of the contract would at least have to include an "Accidental Damage" clause.  When the Care Pack contract was registered with HP,  the purchase information would have been entered as part of the registration.

If you purchased the printer from HP,  check your email archives for a message that should have been sent at purchase and when the product was shipped.  Details in the message(s) can act as a receipt.

Check Warranty

Open the Home Page for your Printer

HP DeskJet 2723e All-in-One Printer

Right below the name of the printer, enter your printer's serial number in the box.

The type of contract (if any) available for the printer will be displayed along with the contract type.

If you have a Care Pack that includes Accidental Damage (wording might vary), contact HP Support.

Information for contacting Support is included below...

Practical Suggestions

The glass, of course, must be cleaned up -- be careful to get every shard to protect people and animals from being harmed by the sharp bits.

Depending on where you live, there might be "e-waste" services available to pick up and recycle the printer.  Perhaps tape or box (or bag) the printer to prevent others from being injured by sharp edges in and around the damaged flatbed.

Reminders – READ

Online Case Submission to HP Support is available to those whose devices registered and are still in Warranty.

Some (Most) regions display phone / chat contact information only after the case is submitted online.

Not every issue is covered under the standard Hardware Warranty.  Purchased Care Pack Warranties differ by contract.

HP is not a "general" repair facility: Requests for out-of-warranty repairs are usually not accepted.

If the problem is hardware, if your device is in Warranty, if your device is Registered, and you cannot submit your case to Support, let us know and we will forward a request.

You dropped the printer, lucky for you Black Friday is soon. Just go and buy a new printer and do not waste your time on a dead end of trying to get someone else to pay for your actions.
