I am getting vertical lines on my scanned documents put through the document feeder. This does not occur with the flatbed scanner. Help!

This looks like an issue with the document feeder. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.
