HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

Hi, I am trying to install the scanning software and am hung up on the improvement study page which is asking for a 9-digit number but is not saying what that # is. I can't continue the "easy start" without it.

Hi @kimjacksonphoto

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like you're stuck on the improvement study page during the setup process for your HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer. The 9-digit number being requested is likely related to a survey or program participation code, but it’s unclear why this is blocking your progress.

Let’s work through some steps to bypass this issue and complete the installation:

Step 1: Skip the Improvement Study Page

  1. Look for a Skip or Continue without entering a code option on the improvement study page.
  2. If no such option is visible, try closing the setup window and restarting the HP Easy Start application.

Step 2: Reinstall the HP Easy Start Software

  1. Uninstall the current version of HP Easy Start from your computer.
  2. Download the latest version of the software from the HP Support website.
  3. Restart your computer and try the setup process again.

Step 3: Use the HP Smart App

  1. Download the HP Smart App from the Microsoft Store or App Store.
  2. Open the app and add your printer by following the on-screen instructions.
  3. The HP Smart App may bypass the improvement study page entirely.

Let me know how it goes or if you need further help! 😊
