Hello,

I am filing a patent.  I scanned my black and white drawings using the HP Envy 5660 scanner and submitted them via Email to the USPTO.  I got a letter in the mail saying "you have to submit black and white drawings on WHITE paper".  So I thought to myself, I thought they were definitely white paper.

Low and behold, I went back and checked, and my scans were definitely a light gray, not white.  Im sure its a calibration issue or a setting I need to fix... but how do I make sure my white scans come back white?

Best way is to scan as text. Scanning as picture or drawing often results in Grey scale not simple black and white.

Thank you for your reply.  I have two options on my Envy 5660, photo or document.  I chose document, and they came out grey.
