I am trying to scan to my google chromebook and it is not letting me.  I can print from the chromebook, but cannot scan.  Does this HP printer (HP Officejet Pro 6978) only accept Microsoft or will it accept google as well?

Hi,

Follow below steps to scan from a Chromebook through a network connection using Wenscan:

Be aware that scanning is only supported through a network connection and not via USB for Chrome OS.
