Hi @Jaguar1969,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with scanning on your HP Envy 7855 All-in-One Printer, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem. Here's a step-by-step guide.

Check Connection:

  • Make sure that your printer is properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
  • Ensure that there are no connectivity issues between the printer and the computer.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both your computer and the printer.
  • Wait for a few minutes.
  • Turn them back on.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer.
  • Visit the official HP website, locate your printer model, and download the latest drivers.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a diagnostic tool called "HP Print and Scan Doctor" that can help identify and resolve common printing and scanning problems. Download and run this tool from the official HP website.

Check for Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service:

  • Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Look for the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" service in the list.
  • Ensure that the service is set to "Automatic" and is started. If not, right-click on it and choose "Start."

Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Check your firewall and antivirus settings to ensure that they are not blocking the communication between your computer and the printer.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
  • Reinstall the latest version of the software from the HP website.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. If so, update the firmware.

Check for Physical Issues:

  • Ensure that there are no physical issues with the scanner, such as paper jams or obstructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
