Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I am having issues scanning multiple page documents and saving them as a pdf. The scanner on multiple occasions had for instance scanned and saved the first couple documents, then it would scan but no icon of the scanned document would come up in the scanner panel window. I tried reinstalling the software and it just starts doing it again. Help!

Hi @Don373,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Use HP Scan Software

  • Open HP Scan on your computer.
  • Select Document to File or Save as PDF.
  • Choose Multipage PDF (not JPEG or PNG).
  • Scan and click ‘+’ to add more pages before saving.

Check Save Location

  • Sometimes scanned files don’t appear because they are saved in a different folder.
  • Check Documents → Scanned Documents or go to HP Scan → Settings → Save Location.

Restart & Update Drivers

  • Restart the printer & PC and try again.
  • Update the HP Smart App and HP Scan drivers from HP Support.

Change Scan Mode

  • Open HP Scan → Advanced Settings.
  • Try Black & White instead of Color.
  • Lower DPI resolution (e.g., 300 DPI instead of 600).

Use Windows Scan Tool (Alternative)

  • Open Windows Scan App (Press Windows + S, search "Scan").
  • Select PDF as the file format and scan.

Let me know if it still doesn’t work, and I’ll guide you further! 😊
