Hi @Joneslove2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering an error message while trying to scan from your iPhone to your HP printer, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Restart your iPhone and the printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Turn off both your iPhone and the printer, wait for a few minutes, and then turn them back on.
  • Check for updates: Make sure that both your iPhone and the HP printer have the latest software updates installed. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
  • Verify network connection: Ensure that your iPhone and the printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If they are connected to different networks, they might not be able to communicate with each other.
  • Reset network settings: On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings on your iPhone, including Wi-Fi networks and passwords. After resetting, reconnect your iPhone to the Wi-Fi network and try scanning again.
  • Reinstall HP Smart app: If you're using the HP Smart app to scan, try deleting the app from your iPhone and reinstalling it from the App Store. This can sometimes resolve app-related issues.
  • Check printer settings: Make sure that scanning is enabled on your HP printer and that it is properly configured to scan to your iPhone. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to configure scanning settings.
  • Clear cache and data: If you're using a specific scanning app, try clearing its cache and data. This will remove any temporary files that might be causing the issue.

By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the scanning issue with your HP printer and iPhone.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
