@JenMarion, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your HP Envy Inspire Scanner Connectivity on Mac OS Sonoma!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To resolve issues with connecting your HP Envy Inspire 7220e scanner on Mac OS Sonoma, please follow these detailed troubleshooting steps:

Check Software Installation

Ensure that you have installed all necessary software for your HP Envy Inspire 7220e. Mac OS generally requires HP Easy Scan or HP Smart App for scanning functionalities.

  1. HP Easy Scan: Verify that HP Easy Scan is installed on your Mac. You can download it from the Mac App Store if it isn’t already installed.
  2. HP Smart App: Alternatively, you can use the HP Smart App, which is available from the Mac App Store as well.

Confirm Scanner Connectivity

Ensure that your printer-scanner is properly set up and connected to your Wi-Fi network:

  1. Network Connection: Confirm that your HP Envy Inspire 7220e is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Mac.
  2. Restart Devices: Try restarting both your printer-scanner and your Mac to refresh the network connections.

Use Built-in Mac Software (Image Capture)

You can also use the Image Capture application available in Mac OS to check if the scanner is recognized:

  1. Open Image Capture from your Applications folder.
  2. If the HP Envy Inspire 7220e appears in the ‘Devices’ or ‘Shared’ list on the left side of the Image Capture window, select it.
  3. Try scanning a document to check if the scanner operates correctly.

Update Printer Firmware

Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date:

  1. Access the HP Smart App.
  2. Navigate to "Printer Settings" and look for the "Update Firmware" option.

Remove and Reinstall Printer

Consider removing the current printer setup and reinstalling it:

  1. Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select your HP Envy Inspire 7220e and click the "-" button to remove it.
  3. Click the "+" button to add the printer-scanner again.
  4. Follow the prompts to set up the printer and verify that the scanner is added.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
