Product: HP officejet 6500A Plus E710n
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer series - E710n -  A flexible thin clear ribbon connector with the number C9058-80087 A GMNA078 embossed on it has come loose  (one end connector is broken, the ink cartridge now slams back and forth on startup  and the error message 0xca0022 displays. Can I get a new part with instructions as to installation?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

It's a fairly old printer and spare parts are probably no longer available.  Moreover, it's not trivial  to disassemble the printer just to change the encoder strip (if it's what we think that is broken)

 

One suggestion is to get a new printer with all the latest features.   HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 would be a good similar replacement for the one you have.

Thanks for the suggestion but I would prefer to fix it if I can get the info RE the encoder strip.
