I have tried 3 HP Envy Inspire 7258e printers and 1 725e printer and cannot get them installed on my laptop.   I have spent up to 10 on the phone with HP support with no luck.  Both laptop and printer have been right by modem.  Contacted Internet provider and no issues there.  Printer gets connected to internet but can't get connected to computer thus not connected to instant ink.  EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED as way behind on deadline HELP

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Inspire 7258e printer installation Let's try to troubleshoot this step by step:

 

Verify Network Connection:

  • Ensure that both your laptop and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Confirm the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password are correct.

Remove Previous Installations:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on your laptop.
  • Remove any previously installed HP Envy Inspire printers.
  • Also, uninstall any HP printer software from Settings > Apps.

Disable Firewalls/Antivirus Temporarily:

  • Sometimes, firewalls or antivirus software can block the installation process. Temporarily disable them and try the installation again.

Use the HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the latest version of the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store or HP's website.
  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add a new printer. Ensure that the printer is powered on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Manual IP Address Connection:

  • Print a network configuration page from the printer to get its IP address (usually accessible from the printer's control panel settings).
  • Open a web browser on your laptop and enter the printer's IP address to access the printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS).
  • Ensure that Web Services are enabled from the EWS settings.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
  • Enter your printer model and download the latest full feature software and drivers.
  • Run the downloaded file and follow the installation prompts.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your laptop's Windows operating system is fully updated. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and install any available updates.

Connect via USB (if applicable):

  • As a temporary measure, connect the printer to your laptop using a USB cable. This can sometimes help establish the initial connection, after which you can switch back to Wi-Fi.

Check Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer 

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up-to-date. This can usually be done via the printer's control panel under the settings menu.
