Hi @Suntanz

Welcome to the HP Support Community! Thanks for posting your query!

We're here to help you get back up and running.

Absolutely—thank you for reaching out, and I completely understand how frustrating this can feel. You’re not alone in this, and I’m right here with you to make this as smooth and stress-free as possible.

Before we dive into the steps, could you help me with a few quick details so I can guide you precisely?

  • Which HP printer or scanner model are you trying to set up?
  • Are you using a Windows PC, or something else like a Mac or a mobile device?
  • Have you already installed the HP App, or are you starting fresh?
  • Is the printer already connected to Wi-Fi, or are we setting that up too?

Once I have this, I’ll walk you through everything in a way that’s easy to follow—no tech jargon, just clear, calm steps. Let’s get this scanner humming.

Hi @Suntanz

Not to worry I'll do everything I can to help get this sorted for you.

Thank you for sharing that your HP Envy 6455e is already installed, connected to Wi‑Fi, and you’re on Windows 11—that makes things much clearer.

Let’s walk through this together step by step, in a calm and simple way.

Open the HP App

  • On your Windows 11 computer, click the Start menu.
  • Type HP App in the search bar and open it.

Select your printer

  • In the HP App home screen, you should see your HP Envy 6455e listed.
  • Click on the printer to open its options.

Go to Scan

  • Once inside your printer’s page, look for the Scan option.
  • Click Scan to open the scanning window.

Choose your settings

  • Select whether you want to scan in Color or Black & White.
  • Choose the file type (PDF or JPEG).
  • Adjust the paper size if needed (A4, Letter, etc.).

Preview and scan

  • Place your document on the scanner glass or in the automatic document feeder.
  • Click Preview if you want to see how it looks before saving.
  • Click Scan to capture the document.

Save or share

  • After scanning, you’ll be asked where to save the file.
  • Choose a folder on your computer, or select Share if you want to email it directly.

You don’t need to install anything extra—the HP App already includes the scanning function. Just open the app, select your printer, and use the Scan option. Once you’ve done it once, it will feel much easier the next time.
