HP – I urgently need to scan and I can’t seem to get help. Being forced to rely on the very much unreliable HP Smart App is like playing Russian Roulette with my reputation to complete things on time. I have wasted months of my life going between multiple devices trying to make the App work so that I could print, scan, or fax only to be left with zero options for customer service, Apps that won’t uninstall from my devices, and security risks. Now I am once again left in a bad position with an urgent need to scan and fax a document and a worthless hunk of a machine that cannot perform the basic functions that I purchased it for. Not because of the machine itself – but because of a poorly designed app and a company that refuses to provide support to its customers who will inevitably have problems with the app. I always considered HP to be a great brand, which is why I purchased your printer. But if you want brand loyalty in the future, I think you should put a whole lot more thought on how to make your customers experience with your products and company more positive. And before you say I should just drive to Fedex or pay for support to fix it, I am disabled and as a consequence not in the best spot financially right now. I would sincerely appreciate a response to let me know how to resolve my situation using one of my devices. It shouldn’t be this hard.

go to support.hp.com and search for drivers for your device and this is one of the options which installs a local based scan program.
