Is there any way to use my HP D110 printer/scanner without having an HP Smart account?

HP Smart is used to configure the printer and to notify you of any problems.

 

The D110 is an e-series

If you have an e-series printer and have signed up for Instant Ink, or any of the "Plus" features, then your HP printer needs to be online so it can "phone home".  You can use Wi-Fi direct to print.  Wi-Fi direct avoids going through the modem or router but the printer still needs to be online or it will not print. 

 

If you rejected the subscription to instant ink or ran temporarily ran out, then you can use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge.
The below type is unlikely to work.

Instant ink cartridges can only be used when the ink subscription is active.  

 

As far as I know, you do not have to use HP Smart as long as you do not have an ink subscription.

For scanning use HP Scan instead of HP Smart

You do need to use HP Smart initially to do the registration.

Where can I download the HP Scan app? It appears to me that HP has decided to discontinue it.

OOPS,OOPS,OOPS, I forgot the D110 is an older system 😣

 

The only scanning software available is a 3rd party that requires you to purchase a license.

Do not call any phone numbers shown in any of the videos or revealed by a Bing or Google search unless it is an HP site or video.

This printer supports only WPA-1

Generally speaking this is software that is not considered a virus or trojan. It performs unwanted functions such as downloading newer advertisements or reporting what the user is looking to buy and offering alternative suggestions. Typically free games have these apps. Note that some users consider this to be a feature.
Type MRT in the windows search bar both before and after downloading from any 3rd party site.
