Copy via both the scanner glass and tray without any issue.

I believe this is most likely the latest software issue.

That means the scanner hardware is working fine. Please contact the HP Support team as mentioned in my previous post for further assistance as we have tried all the possible steps.

what worked for me is to download the HP Scan and Capture app from the Microsoft Store. 
This works. HP Smart does not work.

It's only for Window OS I assume? What version is that?

 

HP support called and try troubleshoot via share screen, we've gone through all steps that we've done from the advise of @Kumar0307, can't solve the issue.

When the step reinstalling apps by connecting the printer IP address it required to reboot my laptop, I asked the support personnel to call again after an hour as I need to complete and save my work before reboot my laptop, after rebooting I did the steps she asked me to do before hangup the phone, it also doesn't help.

 

It's been 2 days, I'm still waiting for her to call back.

 

If the version downloaded from Microsoft Store works, it is very obvious the HP smart app issue, I'm not sure how many people are affected, I wish HP can update it as soon as possible. Don't want to purchase another printer just because of the new software issue. The current printer still working fine.

Hi Chwl,

Try to download HP Scan amd Capture from the Microsoft store. This works.

 

With Mac I am sure there is a similar app. I assume HP Smart had some update and this disables the scanning.

I am facing the same issue as other users and cannot use the scanner. I am on windows and downloaded the HP Scan and Capture but that also does not seems to work so far...

update 1 - uninstalling HP Smart and resetting HP Scan and Capture seems to have worked. So HP Scan and Capture  is working  now for me on Windows 10

 

update 2 - It just worked once and same issue with HP Scan and Capture. This is getting ridiculous

Thanks for sharing, Mac can't use the one downloaded fromMicrosoft store.

The support called and did bunch of test, and can't solve the issue.

Just tried update to the latest HP smart 12.7.1 It doesn't help as well.

I have the same problem, and I have also tried the HP Technical Support. As the answer I have received a message that "You created a support case using mycrm.support.hp.com tool which does not cover your product." Does this mean that there will be no answer for this issue?

I understand that this model is old (over 2 years), but it seems that the issue appeared lately on many machines of this model. Can anyone help with this?

@Cekir ... I agree with your sentiment: there appears to be not much that can be done with this particular model HP printer. I did want to comment that this model (HP Laserjet 100 color MFP M175nw) is older than 2 years. I purchased mine years ago (don't remember exactly when, but it was announced and began selling in mid-2011). It's a great printer.

I confirm that on Windows Machines it works with HP Scan and Capture app
