HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer
Chrome OS

Greetings,

I have a LaserJet M1536dnf. It has been configured for my network since purchase, and I have confirmed that all functions work: print, scan, copy, ADF, FAX, SMART, etc. It is connected on Ethernet, IPv4 and IPv6, but I have also used a USB connection. Print and scan clients have included Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and below with HPLIP, Windows 10, Android 5 and 11.

I recently purchased an Acer 516 GE Chromebook. Intel i5 processor, 8GiB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2.5GbE, USB-A, USB-C, ChromeOS Version 114.0.5735.205 (Official Build) (64-bit). Stable channel is selected.

Adding the printer was automatic and printing works great. IPP protocol is used over the Ethernet. USB also works.

ChromeOS Scan app cannot find the scanner. I cannot scan.

I have tried manual configuration of the printer, several different ways. USB or network. Re-verified all printer configuration. ChromeOS is up to date. Compatibility check done: HPLIP is supported 100%. ChromeOS uses this under the hood.

So, I can't scan. I would be happy to entertain any diagnostic or troubleshooting steps for this. Thanks!
