HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 4302fdw Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Anyone know if it’s possible to calibrate the scanner on a LaserJet Pro MFP 4302fdw? Horizontal lines at the top of the image are slightly bent when I scan using the flatbed scanner.

I can’t see any options for scanner calibration, either on the unit’s touchscreen or via the EWS.

Unit is brand new.

Many thanks.

Hi @Pete_B2,

the distortions in the upper area are very clearly recognisable. In the lower range, the distortions are less clearly recognisable.

There is no function to calibrate the scanner.

If the printer is still under warranty, please contact HP support team in your region for help.
Thanks for understanding!

Hi,

Scan a blank A4 sheet at 300 dpi and upload it here without modifying it.

What is the name of the scan app?

Kind Regards
Andr-1611

Hi Andr-1611

Scan of a blank A4 sheet attached (see lower of two attached images) but it doesn't show very much - it's a perfectly blank white image.

Apologies, I wasn't terribly clear in my original post - I'm not getting unwanted marks / lines on scanned images, rather that scanned images are slightly distorted.

I've also attached a scan of a sheet of A4 lined writing paper, and you can see that the lines at the top of the image are slightly distorted.

The obvious thing that springs to mind is that the scanner needs calibrating, but I can't find any way of doing this.

Thanks very much for your help.

Thanks Andr-1611. Printer's only two days old so it will be returned.

This unit is, in fact, already a replacement for my original unit which had significant cyan ghosting when printing.

I'll try a third unit and cross my fingers!
