HP Scanjet Pro 3000 S3
Linux

Just ordered at Scanjet Pro 3000 S3. Looked at the spec afterwards and did not find Linux support. Did not find it in the SANE backend list either http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html.

 

HP has always been my goto brand for printers since they have always had excellent Linux support, so really surprised this scanner does not seem to be supported... Ideas?

Hi,

Sane is a 3rd party solution, not a solution from HP.

 

Your scanner is supported by HPLIP as listed below for the HP Scanjet Pro 3000 s3:

Review the HPLIP documentation to install and use HPLIP, also be aware it required the HPLIP Binary Plug-In, see below support article:
