We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Hp ScanJet Pro 3000S3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have document contracts that are 17 inches long.
Most of these documents have been folded due to not fitting properly in a legal file folder.
Even though I have straighten the contract our before placing it in the scanner, when I try to scan one of these contracts, the scanner thinks it is 2 sheets of paper and immediately goes into a paper jam mode
Is there anyway to fix this issue?
Having to make copies in order to scan is not only time consuming but wasting a lot of paper and defeating the purpose of going digital

17 inches in length is well within the custom page size allowed / supported in this device.

 Product specifications

Assuming the print settings are appropriate for the job being submitted to the scanner,

Try / Consider

I read the User Guide for this device - and found something very interesting (to me) on Page 15.

If you have not already done so:

The guide recommends that you place your fragile (or wrinkled?) document into a document sleeve before sending the page through the scanner.

Excerpted from the Guide:

Smooth out any folds or curls in your documents before placing them into the feeder. If the leading edge of a document is curled or folded, it might cause a paper jam.
● To scan fragile documents (such as photos or documents on wrinkled or very lightweight paper), place the document in a clear, heavyweight document sleeve no wider than 216 mm (8.5 in) before loading them into the input tray.

TIP: If you do not have an appropriately-sized document sleeve, consider using a sleeve intended for use in a ring binder. Trim the ring-side edge so the sleeve is no more than 216 mm (8.5 in) wide. Also, disable multipick detection before scanning, as the document sleeve will trigger a multipick error.
● Make sure that the document feeder hatch is securely latched. To properly close the hatch, press firmly on both sides of the hatch.
● Adjust the paper guides to the width of the documents. Make sure that the paper guides touch the edges of the original. If there is any clearance between the paper guides and the edges of the documents, the scanned image might be skewed.
● When placing a stack of documents into the feeder, gently set the stack in the input tray. Do not drop
the stack into the tray and do not tap the top edge of the stack after you have placed the stack in the input tray.
● Clean the scan rollers if the rollers are visibly dirty or after scanning a document written with or written on with pencil.

How this is better, faster, more efficient than hand copying or ironing (so very carefully) the fold mark on the document page(s) is something you have to decide.  At least the guide does offer suggestions other than "throw up hands".

Thank you Dragon for your quick response. Reading the manual was the first thing I did to try to resolve the issue I tried a legal document sleeve but the scanner recognizes the sleeve as a jam because I have had to fold the contract to fit the sleeve. They don't make sleeves of any type to fit such long paper. Taping 2 sleeves together didn't work either Back to square 1 I had an Epsom scanner that would scan anything. Should have stayed with the Epsom I guess. Since we now have all HP products in our office, I chose to go with HP when the Epsom died. Live and learn Thanks again for your input

You are welcome.

Well, rats.  I did think that perhaps you had read the User Guide, though we do find that not everyone does that.  Points to you for being prepared.

I would guess you do not have an iron sitting around the office.  It has been a number of years since I had to iron a document - touchy business and certainly not something one wants to do to a legal document.  "Final choice", perhaps if all other measures fail.

Depending on the circumstances, for example, if the document can be legally removed from the office and taken to another location, you can likely have the copy made professionally.

I am out of other useful ideas for the moment.
