I have a Laserjet M125nw AIO printer/scanner running wirelessly in concert with Windows 7 64-bit OS and 1Gig internet all in the same small room. I have no issues with the wireless internet on any other device, including tablets, phones, Sonos, etc. But the scanner portion of my BFF HP AIO is no longer working wirelessly.
The printer works just fine wirelessly and the scanner works as long as it is wired to the laptop using the HP-provided USB cable. That was okay once, irritating twice, but unacceptable the third time. You see, HP, I have to unplug the device, move it to a spot near the desk, plug it in to the wall and then to the laptop in order to scan.
To the best of my knowledge, there were no changes or updates to my wireless network nor were there changes or updates to the Windows OS (I do not have Windows Updates set to auto). Several times, I went through the troubleshooting steps listed here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-mfp-m125-series/5396664/document/c00040499. No joy.
The HP Print and Scan Doctor always returns a red "X" on Windows (WIA) Scan, but all possible solutions to that issue have led down a variety of rabbit holes. The last thing I read on the HP forums was something like (I'm paraphrasing): If DIM doesn't show up in the msconfig list, the HP drivers did not install correctly." Well, I've uninstalled and reinstalled them at least six times and spent some 4-5 hours struggling to git 'er done.
My warranty ran out in February (2017), so HP offers crickets in lieu of verbal support. Okay, I get it, but this is for home use and so does not have heavy demand put upon it. So, the warranty period may have expired, but in terms of usage this magic box still sparkles like new. I'd like some support from HP, please.
Thanks.

Greetings @DiegoCatanese,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that you are unable to scan over wireless is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Are you able to make a copy on the printer?
Are you using a dual band router?
Have you tried different applications to scan?
Note: HP Printers do not work or connect to 5Ghz networks. If you are using a dual band router, please give different names to 2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz networks and connect the printer to the 2.4Ghz network.
Request you follow the exact procedure mentioned below to uninstall the printer software and settings completely, clear the temp files and then install the printer back and check.
Uninstall the printer from "programs and features" which can be accessed from the Control panel.
(Please have the printer Off and disconnected during uninstallation.)
Check in device manager, if the printer is listed there, please delete it.
(Device manager can be accessed from the Control panel.)
Go to devices and printers, select any printer listed there and you will get some options on the top.
Click on print server properties.
You will get a popup, click on the drivers tab and delete all the HP printer drivers listed there, if any.
Delete all the instances of your printer listed in devices and printers.
Restart the PC.
Once the PC is on the desktop, press Win + R, it would bring a Run dialog box,
Type %temp% in the run box and click Ok or hit the Enter button.
It would bring up the temporary files folder. Delete the files in the folder (You might not be able to delete all the files, ignore them).
If possible, delete the printer from the registries using Regedit or using any other 3rd party application.
Restart the PC again.
Download the latest full feature driver from www.hp.com/drivers and install it on the computer.
Power on/Connect the printer to your computer only when the setup prompts for the printer.
Let me know if this helped. Good Luck.

I understand that you are unable to scan over wireless is that right? Yes, that is correct.
Are you able to make a copy on the printer? I don't know. I don't use this device to make copies. I use it to print and scan.
Are you using a dual band router? No. The router I have is single band (2.4 GHz).
Have you tried different applications to scan? I tried the suggestions in the troubleshooting document mentioned in my first post, like scanning from Paint. None worked.
Perhaps I was not completely clear, but I am able to print wirelessly. I just cannot scan wirelessly. I can scan as long as my laptop is wired to the HP device using the USB cord that was provided with the device.
I tried all of your suggestions, except for delete the printer from the registries. Could you be more specific, please?
Although I did not get into the registry, I did try to download and reinstall the full featured driver from HP. I am now getting this error: Setup cannot copy the file hpzjcdscan.dll (below).
Under "Copy files from:", the full path is: c:\program files\hp\csiinstaller\c65448bc-e467-4ec7-b4a5-246697f52957
I am able to Cancel out of this and continue the configuration. Upon completing configuration and registering the device, I am back to square one, which is being able to print wireless, but not scan wirelessly.
Thanks for the quick response and suggestions. I'm hoping we can get this working.

Thanks for the reply and trying the suggested procedure.
If you are not sure on using Regedit, recommend you use Windows uninstall utility to uninstall the printer software again. Click here.
Make sure to have the printer off and while deleting the printer from print server properties as suggested in my previous post.
Please clear the temp files before reinstalling the printer.
If the issue persists, please create a new user account on your computer and reinstall the printer and check.
Keep me posted.
