Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

LaserJet Pro Color MFP 475dw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We've had this printer for a few years now and it's not Duplex scanning anymore. (I think that's the phrase, anyway. It won't scan both sides of a document automatically.) We're using the "HP Scan" utility from a Windows 10 computer. When scanning through the document feeder, the page will go through once, and not come all the way out. It will then get re-fed into the printer for what I assume is the scanning of the second side of the page. It will get about half back into the scanner. The rollers will spin and it won't move anymore. The printer then declares there's a jam, and the only way to clear it is to lift the document feeder up, (the same as when you access the flatbed scanner,) and remove the paper from the very narrow slot underneath.

It seems to work just fine when double-sided scanning is disabled, but obviously we prefer that on.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Most solutions online don't work, especially for older LaserJet MFP printers like the m475dw. To Scan from desktop or from printer keypad Windows 10 fix: You have to: 1) Select - Windows Services (Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services). 2) Select - Windows Image Acquisition (WIA). 3) Make sure it's running and set to run Automatic. 4) Select - Properties; 5) Select - Logon tab and then Select - Local System Account and check: Allow service to interact with the desktop. 6) Select - login with your account and change from default to your main administrator's profile and logon password.
This will allow you to scan FROM THE DESKTOP software over WIFI or USB. To then also scan from the printer keypad to a network folder you will have to turn on SMB v1. For steps, Google search: how to turn on windows 10 smbv1. However, you should also Google the resulting security issues with turning it on, Google search: security issues with smb v1.
