Hi @Hamal77,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To enable two-sided scanning directly from the user scan menu on an HP MFP M479fdn, you typically need to adjust the settings through the device's control panel. Follow these steps.

  • Access the scan menu: On the control panel of the HP MFP M479fdn, locate the scan menu button or icon. It's usually labeled as "Scan" or depicted by a scanner icon.
  • Navigate to settings: Once you're in the scan menu, you'll need to navigate through the options to find the settings for two-sided scanning. The exact steps may vary slightly depending on the firmware version of your device, but typically, you'll see options like "Scan Settings" or "Scan Preferences."
  • Locate duplex scanning: Look for an option related to duplex or two-sided scanning. It might be labeled as "Duplex Scan," "Two-Sided Scan," or something similar.
  • Enable duplex scanning: Select the option for two-sided scanning and choose to enable it. You may have the choice to select automatic duplexing (where the scanner automatically detects and scans both sides of the document) or manual duplexing (where you'll need to flip the pages yourself).
  • Save settings: Once you've enabled two-sided scanning, make sure to save the settings. This might involve selecting a "Save" or "Apply" option, or the changes might be automatically applied as you navigate back to the main scan menu.
  • Test the settings: Before exiting the scan menu, it's a good idea to test the two-sided scanning to ensure it's working as expected. Place a document with content on both sides into the scanner's document feeder and initiate a scan.
  • Exit the menu: Once you're satisfied that two-sided scanning is functioning correctly, you can exit the scan menu and return to the main screen or home menu of the device.

If you're unable to find the option for two-sided scanning in the user scan menu, it's possible that the feature is not available for direct access through the control panel on your specific model or firmware version.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
