In opening HP Twain to do some scanning after a long time without using it, I received the following error.

JAGForm_0-1615146287895.png

It turns out the IP address has changed, however the instructions provided (as posted above) do not work.

There is no such option "Update IP Address" from the printer's menu, and I when I type that into Windows 10 'Start Menu', it brings up a website for a different situation.

HP Support has told me to :

12:47 PM   SHREYAS:

Kindly try using Hp Full feature solution driver as it includes Twain driver.

Obviously this hasn't helped as I already have the twain driver installed.

Ideally it'd be nice if HP wasn't limited to a manual/static IP address, but at a minimum there should be instructions on how to inform HP Twain the IP address has changed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Here's another suggestion from HP technical support;

1:13 PM   SHREYAS:

You can contact Internet service provider to check with the range of IP that can be assigned to the printer.

Obviously this isn't helpful and quite misleading.

When you installed the twain software it should have installed HP Scan software and also a TWAIN device selection software. Not clear from your post if you have tried re-detecting devices or not.

If you find the information provided useful or solves your problems, help other users find the solution easier by marking my post as an accepted solution. Clicking "yes" on "was this reply helpful" also increases the chances that this solution will help others.

Thank you @Repairatrooper for the thoughts,

You're somewhat close; I have HP Twain and HP Smart (not HP Scan for this unit) that can be used for scanning.

The HP Smart currently works to scan (as it's using the correct IP), but doesn't have the customization of page size I get when I use HP Twain.
