I had been using my LaserJet Pro MFP wirelessly without issue for several years, with both Mavericks and Yosemite. A few weeks ago, a system "update" made the printer invisible. After several hours of troubleshooting and trying five or six fixes, I finally got the printer back online by using the IP address.
My computers, however (one running Mavericks and one running Yosemite), do not see the scanner. This isn't a matter of adding it--they cannot see it to add it. Per HP support, I reset the printing system and tried to start over. I downloaded HP Easy Print (or Easy Start or whatever), which is all the support site offered in the way of software for the MFP 277dw. The software ran me through the set up and congratulated itself on a job well done, but my printer was not, in fact, connected. It showed up in the Printers control panel, but would not print. Just "connecting to printer" on the queue for ten minutes or so until I canceled the job. And the scanner still doesn't show in Image Capture, Preview or HP Easy Scan.
So, I have gone back to my previous fix for the printer, using the IP address. Any ideas about how to get the scanner to show up?

Hi,
Reboot your router by unplugging its power for 30 seconds.
Once it is fully up and you have internet access on your Mac reboot both the HP Printer and the Mac.
From System Preferences select Printers & Scanners and click the plus sign to re-add the printer.
Can you now ee it listed as Bonjour type or not?
Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.
